CAR-T therapy, which reprograms a patient's own immune cells to recognize and destroy tumor cells, has revolutionized treatment for blood cancers and offers many patients long-lasting remission or cure. However, the therapy often fails in lymphomas—cancers affecting the lymphatic system—particularly when tumors are located in lymph nodes. This innovation addresses a critical limitation of current CAR-T approaches, potentially expanding treatment options for patients with difficult-to-treat lymphomas and improving overall survival outcomes.
