Half of Gen Z with Depression Report Cannabis Use, Study Shows

A new NeuroKaire report reveals that 50% of Gen Z diagnosed with depression use cannabis, with rates decreasing across older generations (48% Millennials, 41% Gen X, 22% Boomers). The study also found significantly higher CBD product usage among depressed individuals, with 70% of depressed Gen Z using CBD compared to 44% of non-depressed peers. These findings highlight emerging self-medication trends in younger populations managing depression symptoms. Healthcare providers in Puerto Rico should be aware of these usage patterns when counseling patients about mental health treatment options and potential cannabinoid interactions with conventional therapies.
