PAHO Launches Roadmap to Strengthen Speech and Hearing Therapy Services in Dominican Republic

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), in collaboration with the Dominican Republic's Ministry of Public Health, National Health Service, National Disability Council, and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, has developed a technical mission to enhance speech and hearing therapy services. This initiative aims to strengthen access to essential communication and auditory care across the country. The roadmap represents a coordinated effort among key health and disability organizations to improve services for patients with speech, language, and hearing disorders. Enhanced services will benefit individuals requiring therapeutic interventions for these conditions, ensuring better quality of care and accessibility throughout the Dominican health system.
