Plant-Based Grocery Support Linked to Lower Blood Pressure and Weight in Adults

A study of 68 adults demonstrates that providing access to nutritious plant-based foods can significantly improve management of chronic metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes and hypertension. Unlike most "Food Is Medicine" research limited to short-term observations of weeks to months, this analysis provides longer-term health record data showing sustained benefits. Participants receiving grocery support experienced reductions in both blood pressure and body weight, addressing two major risk factors for cardiovascular disease. These findings suggest that food-based interventions may offer a practical, preventive approach to managing chronic conditions and improving overall metabolic health outcomes.
