Proposal to Include Asthma Inhalers in Farmacias del Pueblo Network

The Dominican Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery has proposed incorporating anti-inflammatory inhalers into the Farmacias del Pueblo pharmacy network to improve patient access to essential asthma medications. This initiative aims to make critical respiratory treatments more accessible and affordable for people with asthma across the region. Anti-inflammatory inhalers are essential for long-term asthma control and preventing acute exacerbations. Expanding availability through the government pharmacy network could significantly reduce barriers to medication access for underserved populations and improve asthma management outcomes.
