Puerto Rico Health Ministry Swears In Committees to Prevent Healthcare-Associated Infections

The Puerto Rico Ministry of Public Health (MSP), through its Quality Assurance Division and in coordination with the National Health Service (SNS), officially inaugurated 43 committees dedicated to preventing and controlling healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) across public and private health facilities. These committees will work to implement infection control protocols and best practices in hospital and clinical settings. Healthcare-associated infections represent a significant public health concern that can complicate patient recovery and increase healthcare costs. The establishment of these committees demonstrates the government's commitment to enhancing patient safety and reducing preventable infections in healthcare facilities throughout the island.
