SNS Intensifies Oversight of Maternal and Child Health Services Across Public Hospital Network

Puerto Rico's National Health Service (SNS) has launched a comprehensive initiative to strengthen maternal, infant, and neonatal care across all public hospitals under the directive of Executive Director Dr. Julio Landrón. The program operates under the mandate of "Zero Tolerance for Maternal and Child Mortality," emphasizing rigorous oversight and quality improvements in prenatal, delivery, and postpartum services. Dr. Freddy Novas, Director of Maternal and Child Health at SNS, is leading the national implementation of these enhanced supervisory actions. This initiative aims to reduce preventable maternal and infant mortality rates and ensure consistent, high-quality healthcare standards across Puerto Rico's public healthcare system.
