Specialists Expose Administrative Barriers Delaying Cancer Treatment

The Dominican Society of Oncologic Surgery (SODOCO) has highlighted administrative obstacles that impede timely cancer care delivery. The organization called for strengthened institutional dialogue and urged against generalizations regarding healthcare professionals, amid recent public statements about alleged irregular billing practices. These administrative delays pose serious risks to cancer patients, as timely treatment initiation is critical for improved outcomes. SODOCO emphasized the right of affiliated patients to receive quality care while advocating for collaborative problem-solving between healthcare providers, insurers, and regulatory authorities to remove barriers to oncologic treatment.
