Ultrasound Technology Shows Promise for Extracting Cannabis Leaf Compounds

Researchers from Argentina's CONICET and National University of Tucumán have successfully tested ultrasound-assisted extraction to recover phenolic compounds from cannabis leaf material. The innovative technique achieved maximum efficiency in just six minutes, significantly reducing processing time compared to traditional methods. Phenolic compounds possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties relevant to various therapeutic applications. While results remain laboratory-based at this stage, this advancement could potentially improve the efficiency of cannabis-derived therapeutic product development. Further clinical research is needed to translate these findings into practical medical applications.
