Virginia Launches Enforcement Unit for Hemp THC Products, Kratom and Emerging Intoxicants

Virginia's Attorney General is establishing a dedicated enforcement unit to regulate the rapidly expanding market of hemp-derived intoxicants, vaping products, THC products, and kratom. The consolidation brings multiple regulatory responsibilities under one office as new intoxicating substances continue entering the market daily, many containing dangerous or illegal ingredients. This enforcement effort aims to protect public health by monitoring and controlling access to unregulated hemp products and emerging substances that may pose health risks.
